Beggars Pizza, and its affiliates, (“we,” “our,” or “us”) are committed to protecting your privacy.

Beggars Pizza takes your right to privacy seriously, and wants you to feel comfortable using this website. This Privacy Policy describes the personal information we collect on beggarspizza.com, our mobile application, and any other authorized sites, services and tools operated by or on behalf of Beggars Pizza and where this Privacy Policy appears (collectively, this “Site”), how we use the personal information, and when we share personal information with third parties. This Privacy Policy applies to information collected via this Site or collected offline, such as in our restaurants, by telephone, or through other interactions as applicable. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected on third party sites (see “Third Party Websites and Social Media” section below). Please note that not all of the features/functionality described are available on or through each portion of the Site.

By using this Site, you agree to this Privacy Policy and to the Terms of Use (“Terms”) governing your use of the Site and any additional terms applicable to specific programs that we may offer from time to time (each, a “Program”). When visiting or interacting with our Site, we may collect, store, and process various kinds of data, including personal information about you. “Personal information” refers to any information that identifies, relates to, describes, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual.

The types of personal information we collect will depend on how you are interacting with us using our Site and services.  For example, we may collect different information from you if you contacted us regarding services provided at a restaurant owned and operated by one of our franchisees, or if you contact us with a question. Depending on how you interact with our websites, the information we may have collected from you and others may include:

  4. phone number;
  5. street address, state/province, zip/postal code, city;
  6. username and password;
  7. Internet Protocol address; and
  8. usage data.

While using our Site, we may ask you to directly provide us with certain personal information that can be used to contact or identify you.  We may also collect details of your visit to our Site and the pages you access through the use of cookies and other technologies.  Specifically, we may collect, store, or process information when you:

  2. Register for an account, sign up to participate in a Program, or otherwise submit personal information on this Site and/or in connection with Programs and services available through this Site;
  3. Place an order on the Site;
  4. Interact with us and/or franchisees and/or use of the Site (including without limitation information we receive when you use your Program member card(s), historical sales information, information about your location and the device you are using, through this Site or any other website or in any other manner);
  5. Respond to surveys conducted by or on behalf of us and/or franchisees;
  6. Sign up to receive marketing communications from us;
  7. Enter contests or sweepstakes; or
  8. Voluntarily provide information.

We may also collect personal information from or about you outside of this Site, including without limitation information we receive from you in person and/or from third parties (including without limitation from franchisees and referrals from third parties).  We may also collect your personal information as described elsewhere in this Privacy Policy and applicable Program terms.

2. Use of Data

We use your personal information for the following purposes: 

  • To provide you with, or otherwise respond to your requests for, information and/or services, including customer service that you request from us;
  • To process orders placed and applicable payments;
  • To customize and improve your user experience on this Site;
  • To administer Programs and services, including without limitation providing you with services and Program benefits, features and related communications, to verify your participation in the Program or service, or to track submissions.  Note that third party information you provide (for example, your friend in a forward-to-a-friend program) may be maintained in connection with your submission;
  • To administer your account, including by making your historical ordering information available to you for your future ordering purposes;
  • To provide you with information about new products or services, including but not limited to contests, sweepstakes and surveys, and other special offers and marketing programs, which may include information about our affiliated companies, franchisees and/or other programs with which any of us or them are involved;
  • To enhance our customers’ and Site users’ experiences in our restaurants, on this Site, or in a Program and enhance the sales efforts of Beggars Pizza and/or its franchisees;
  • To administer a contest, promotion, survey, a Program, or other Site feature;
  • To conduct research and analysis and to otherwise measure the effectiveness of this Site, our online and offline marketing efforts and to develop and implement products, services, and marketing programs. This analysis may include combining personal data drawn from online and offline sources;
  • To work with third parties to append data to our records or enable other parties to append your non-personal data to their records;
  • In connection with certain submissions by you as described in the Terms;
  • To coordinate Program activities and communications with other marketing programs conducted by us and/or franchisees;
  • To process your online job application and related information;
  • For purposes of targeted or customized advertising or messaging to you, as further described below;
  • As otherwise described in this Privacy Policy, the Terms and/or Program terms or on this Site at the time such information is collected; 
  • For any other purpose with your consent; and
  • To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by us about our Site visitors is among the assets transferred.

 

3. Sharing your Data

 

We may disclose your personal information as follows: 

  • With affiliates, franchisees, contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business and the Site;
  • To fulfil the purpose for which you provide it;

We may disclose aggregated and/or anonymous information about our users with third parties.

4. Use of Tracking Technologies 

We may use cookies (small text files stored in your browser) and other techniques such as web beacons (small, clear picture files used to follow your online activities) (“Tracking Technologies”). Tracking Technologies collect information that tells us how you use our Site.  The use of Tracking Technologies does not give us access to the rest of your computer. This, in turn, helps us make our Site relevant to your interests and needs.  We use a number of different Tracking Technologies, including functional, performance, advertising, and social media or content cookies. 

Most browsers accept cookies automatically. You may be able to set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. For instructions, check your browser’s technical information. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this Site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.  Please note that cookie-based opt outs must be performed on each device and browser that you wish to have opted out. 

Our Site is configured to honor opt-out preference signals sent by Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) within your browser. Please note that due to technical limitations, the GPC signal may only be recognized within your current browser. For more information on GPC please visit https://globalprivacycontrol.org.

Some internet browsers have “Do Not Track” or “DNT” features which, when turned on, send a signal to a website that the individual visiting the website does not wish to be tracked. Such browser features and industry standards are not uniform, so our Sites do not respond to DNT signals, but you can control your cookie preferences in the settings of your Internet browser. Please note that if you block or reject cookies on our Sites, some functionality of the Sites may be limited.

 

5. Your Choices

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  • Communication Choices.  You may opt out of receiving email marketing communications from us or our franchisees by clicking the unsubscribe link included in our emails or by contacting us. You may opt-out of receiving automated text message marketing communications from us or our franchisees by replying “STOP” to the message or contacting us. Please note that we may still send you transactional and administrative emails and text messages even if you opt out of marketing communications. 
  • Targeted or Interest-Based Advertising. We may work with third-party advertising companies that collect and use information about your online activities across sites over time, in order to deliver more relevant advertising when you are visiting the Site and elsewhere on the Internet. This practice is known as interest-based advertising.  The online advertising industry also provides websites from which you may opt-out of receiving targeted ads from our advertising partners that participate in self-regulatory programs. 6. Your Privacy Rights 

Depending on your state of residency, you may have certain privacy rights, subject to certain exceptions, as follows:

  • Right to Access. You may have the right to request that we disclose what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell about you.
  • Right to Correction. You may have the right to request correction of personal information that we maintain about you if you find that the personal Information is inaccurate.
  • Right to Deletion. You may have the right to request that we delete personal information that we have collected from you.
  • Data Portability. You may have the right to request a copy of your personal information in a portable and, to the extent technically feasible, readily usable format.
  • Right to Withdraw Consent. You may have the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of your personal information.
  • Right to Opt-Out. You may have the right to opt-out of certain uses of your personal information such as for (i) targeted advertising or the (ii) “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Right to a List of Third PartiesYou may have the right to obtain a list of third parties to which we have disclosed personal information.
  • Right to Appeal. In some circumstances, we may deny your request to exercise one of your privacy rights described in this Privacy Policy. You may appeal our decision by responding to our denial email. If we deny your appeal, you may have the right to contact your state Attorney General to file a complaint.

7. Payment Processing and Online Ordering 

When you make a payment on our Site, you may be taken to the website of one of our third-party service providers.  That service provider will either collect or have access to your personal information, including your payment card details.  Beggars Pizza does not store payment card information.  

When you place an order through our Site, we will collect certain personal information necessary to process and fulfill your order. This includes your name, email address, phone number, delivery or pickup address, payment card details, and records of your past orders. We use this information to complete your transactions, communicate with you about your order status, and improve your overall experience with our restaurant, such as by remembering your preferences or offering promotions we think you may enjoy. We share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in processing your orders or handling payment transactions on our behalf. 

7. Protecting Your Data and Retention 

To protect your personal information, we take commercially reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed. However, no data protection procedures are entirely infallible. As a result, while we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee that it will be 100% secure. Your transmission of your information to our Site thus is done entirely at your own risk.

We retain information from or about you for so long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.  When information is no longer necessary for these purposes, we delete it or keep it in a form that does not identify you, unless we are required to keep this information for a longer period by law.

8. Third Party Websites and Social Media 

Our Site may contain links to other sites, including those of third parties or partners.  While we seek to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices other websites use.  By accessing other third- party websites or applications through our Site, you are consenting to the terms and privacy policies of those websites.  It is possible that other parties may collect personally identifiable information about your online activities over time and across different websites when you use our Site.

Our Site may include social media features, such as Facebook “Likes” or “Recommend” buttons.  These social media features may require cookies to be set to function properly.  These features may also collect personal information such as your IP address.  These features are governed by the Privacy Policy of the social media platform.  Please review the Privacy Policy of the social media platforms to learn how they protect your information.

9. International Visitors 

Our Site is hosted and operated in the United States (“US”).  By using this Site, you are consenting to the transfer of your personal information to the US.  If you are accessing our Site from outside the US, please be advised that US law may not offer the same privacy protections as the law of your jurisdiction.

10. California Visitors 

California’s “Shine the Light” law (Civil Code Section § 1798.83) permits users of our Site that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. 11. Users Only of Legal Age of Majority 

Our Site is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on this Site or on or through any of its features/register on the Site or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address or any screen name or username you may use. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. Changes may be made to this Privacy Policy from time to time. Please remember that the information we collect varies based on our relationship with you and note that certain personal information or activities may not be reflected in this section because they are exempt from the CCPA.
